Unrest
I used to read the newspaper religiously in college. I was a political science major, and our professors insisted that we stay up to date on what was going on around us. So, I literally read the paper every day for years and wrote reports on the news. Needless to say, I got burnt out on reading the news.
I admit that I quit paying much attention to the news years ago after that span of time. I had a friend who told me I might be a little happier if I didn’t constantly pay attention to the latest happenings in our world. I do read the news here and there, but I have learned not to dwell on it.
However, it is hard to escape the news of our world anymore. Any social media that I use has news on it. I go to meetings and hang around folks at church, and I hear about the news.
So, it has been impossible to avoid what is happening in Iran. What I have seen and read about is so tragic and horrific. I am not debating whether we should be involved in that location or any others. I just hate it all around. I don’t even like living in a world where we have to decide whether to kill people or not.
All that I know to do is pray for peace and work for peace with my hands and heart.
