Groups

I think I have been in some kind of group for most of my adult life while going to church. Even as a kid, I went to Sunday School, Youth Group, Vacation Bible School, etc. The funny thing is that I am an introvert and typically keep to myself. In a group of more than four people, I will usually just sit back and take it all in.

Despite my disposition, I have always enjoyed groups. As I get older, I actually find that I need them. One of the basic human needs, even for introverts like me, is contact with others. We need friends and others to be around. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “And though one might prevail against another, two will withstand one. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.” We need one another to withstand the storms of life. Groups help us not feel so alone, offer alternative perspectives that can help us grow, and help us have fun. All good stuff.

I hope that you have found a group to be a part of here at First Christian Church. The good news is that there are plenty to choose from. Jump in, even if you’re an introvert like me.
